The approach taken to the extension of a traditional farmhouse in this part of rural Co. Waterford was to add a new house parallel to the old one. The new spaces are large, bright and airy, and contain lots of glazing to take advantage of views. The old house is allowed to retain its character of smaller interconnected rooms, almost as an extension of the new.
