This Georgian town house, originally built for the Morris family, was designed and built by John Roberts, with decorative plasterwork by Patrick Osborne (who also decorated Castletown Cox by Davis Ducart). Our refurbishment consisted of converting the basement to a restaurant use while keeping as much of the original fabric and character as possible. The original plastered brick vaults contrast with the new reinforced concrete openings. A beautiful granite-flagged floor was retained. As part of the modernisation, a new kitchen was inserted in a series of barrel vaults under the rear garden and connected into the restaurant spaces by roof lighting the rear area.
