The site is a working farm and residence with the house in its current form dating from at least the 1860s. The reordering of the house required substantial internal changes to the fabric and a simplification of existing volumes. The existing house dates from at least the 1860s. The combination of upper and lower floor sight lines from the house when placed in the context of lines of landscape suggest an undulating profile which became the theme for the curves of the remodelled south facade facing into the private farmyard.
